Muay Thai Life
Many young boys have travled from their remote villages in Thailand to train at gyms in Bangkok with the dream of being a world champion Muay Thai fighter. Even though they are still in their adolescents, they are professional fighters living and training at gyms, which they call their home.
One of these gyms is located in the slums of Klong Toey where people live in 10x10 shacks and the area is known for drug addiction, murder, and extreme poverty.
Many of these young fighters send money back to their families to help supplement their income as farmers. On the other end of the spectrum, there are foreigners from all over the world that come to these gyms and live in the most basic conditions to hone their craft. The common denominator is their love for Muay Thai and the joy and the pain that it can bring.
